- Plot -

More than 10 years after \'Terminator 2\', John Connor now exists only as a drifter - living \'off the grid\', so no more Terminators from the future can hunt him down. Unfortunately, SkyNet does send another one back - and this one is called the T-X, even more powerful & advanced than the dreaded T-1000. However, another CSM-101 Terminator is also sent back to protect John against the T-X. Now, Skynet is patiently assuming control of civilian computer systems, under the guise of a computer virus. John has also met his future wife, Kate Brewster, whose father - a U.S. Air Force General - is in charge of the military computer systems & is leery of up linking SkyNet. However, when the SkyNet virus infects the U.S military computers & leaves the country open to attack, the machines begin their horrific takeover. Soon a nuclear war will result - and the war against the machines will begin. Can the outdated CSM-101 Terminator eliminate the highly advanced T-X - or will a darker future await man following the nuclear attack?

- Trama -

Il film inizia con John Connor che viaggia sulla strada del nulla nella notte buia, mentre i ricordi di un apocalittico futuro gli infestano la mente. Il resto è noto. Dal futuro arriva un cattivo T-X (stavolta una seducente terminatrix) e un ormai vecchio Arnold Schwarzenegger nel ruolo di un buono, ma antiquato, T-101. Entrambi si mettono subito alla ricerca del tanto ambito John Connor che si tiene alla larga da qualsiasi luogo dove regni la tecnologia. La T-X, prima di arrivare a Connor, elimina dei ragazzi che nel futuro farYears parte della resistenza connoriana contro le macchine. Intanto in un laboratorio militare si sta per azionare un nuovo sistema di difesa chiamato sky net, proprio mentre la rete internazionale sembra essere attaccata da un misterioso virus che manda fuori linea i servers. La vicenda procede poi tra devastazioni a go-go fino all’apocalisse finale in cui sky-net, ormai dotato di un’intelligenza propria, dà il via all’annientamento del genere umano. Connor, la sua futura moglie (tra l’altro figlia del generale che ha azionato lo sky net) e il T-101 si rifugiano a Crystal Peak, un rifugio anti-atomico sulle montagne del Nevada, credendo di potere fermare definitivamente lo sky net, ma arrivati là si rendono conto che lo sky net non puÃ² più essere fermato e che il giorno del giudizio è arrivato. Connor risponde agli appelli d’aiuto dei superstiti e inizia la riscossa dell’umanità.
